Home made custom tube condenser microphone

I started with a Aurycle kit :

http://www.aurycle.com/aurycle-a5500-large-diaphragm-tube-condenser-diy-microphone.html

Stock ceramic tube socket have been change for a Teflon turn socket, the socket holder have been redesign, turn out of clear plexiglass. Solid core Silver wires slip into some micro Teflon tubes to complete the connection to the PCB.

The original 12AX7 tube is change for a ANOS* GE 6072 Made in USA triple micas IBM label tube. Some upgrade resistors at 1% tolerance and I upgrade the most important capacitor for the tone, C8 (the big black AEON) witch is now a  2.2uF/250Volts Realcap made by Solen.

* Almost New Old Stock

Stock output transformer (the big one on the right) have been replace by the smaller BV11 from Dave THOMAS http://www.aamicrophones.com/parts.htm

 Audio Clip made with the microphone using a Telecaster with a JTM45 amp into a Private Jack Eminence speaker at low volume (+/- 2),
recorded with a bit of fender Tube Springs Reverb Unit (6G15), no preamp, direct in a Allen & Heath Zed 10 FX mixer USB to computer.

This microphone is made using a AKG headphone capsule, the other one is broken..., making me a dynamic microphe for few dollars.
Mic body is copper plumbing tubing and fittings. A nice place to throw the ''unused'' output transformer from the first project :-)
The capsule is suspend by tree rubber ''O''Rings on a custom made ring holder made of fancy maple.
