This is the prototype of Ken PARKER guitar (probably in 1985...)

This guitar is not an exact Parker Fly clone, but inspire by the shape of a Parker

It start with a seven feets long lumber of Cherry wood, two inchs thick and 6 1/2 inchs wide.

With a density and reflectivity approaching that of maple,
cherry produces a rich, projective midrange and balance without favoring the bass or treble frequencies.
Cherry is a wonderful 'alternative' tonewood. It is medium density, and is quite strong. It
has a 'darker' tone than Maple, and a strong fundamental. It is a great wood for a
strumming guitar, where it's tones can really be brought out, while keeping definition of
each string. It has a reddish brown color, which tends to darken with exposure to the air.
This darkening stops when the finish is applied.
Density: 700-900 kg/cu.m

Specification :
Solid Cherry wood, Neck through the body.
Hipshot Tremolo,
Fender LSR balls bearings nut
Hipshot Grip-Lock guitar tuning machine. Only 34 grams each.
Conical radius finger board (Rosewood) 22 Frets (25.5" scale)
Two Carbon fiber stiffeners in the neck + trusrod
Tree single coil pickups (à la Stratocater)
One master volume, one master TBX tone control, one blender pot with a 5 ways switch.

Got my template done with 1/4 inch thick massonite.

Truss rod in, carbon fiber bars in, tuners on, ready for fretboard gluing.

Pressing the frets in

Here my first pickup build (after a few other prototypes) made with nice curly Koa from Hawai (the tree little blocks are curly maple) almost ready to wind with 42-AWG wire over Alnico V magnets, this one is the bridge pickup with a string spacing of 2.050 inchs. Middle pickup will have a spacing of 1.990 inchs and 1.900 inchs for the neck pickup.

Bridge pickup is wind 8400 turns  giving a resistance of 6.32K Ohms,
8200 turns for the middle pickup and 8000 turns for the neck pickup.

Bridge and Neck pickups have the magets oriented South up while the Middle pickup is North up (RW/RP).

Not done yet, but it is comming good.

More to come later....
