I'm presently starting to build a Marshall JTM45 clone guitar amplifier and I bought most of my parts from a reputable seller, MetroAmp.

This merchant have a nice Forum where builders and passionate Marshall fans can exchange, discuss construction tips, modifications, improuvement etc... I spend many hours looking for technical and building informations about this famous JTM45 Marshall amplifier and there is a guy name Terry KILGORE (AKA TubeTramp) that advertise on this forum as a tube seller.

Of course, I needed some tubes to complement my new build amp, MetroAmp good reputation having a link to Terry KILGORE convince me that I could purchase from a reputable tubes seller too, so I contact Terry KILGORE for my tubes need. My mistake !

As this evidence show, this is a screen shot my PayPal payment that include a description of the items I bought from Terry :

The Message line clearly indicate that I ordered :

"one older (NOS) GZ34 Shungang sino tube, two KT66 Golden Dragon tubes and finally tree NOS (new old stock) Ei Yugo 12AX7 preamplifier tubes" for a total of $206.00 USD. These old Ei Yugo tubes are good bang for the buck, they are not Mullard or Amperex Bugle Boy Holland quality, but much more desirable and valuable than any new production tubes including the $9.95 Chinise crap tubes.

This is what Terry sended to me :

When you buy a brand new pair of Golden Dragon you expect a pair of tubes delivered in original box, with a brand name on it and you expect a print logo/label print on the tubes with a number identification. Terry is having fun eareasing the logos on his tubes, just to make the fraud better and harder to deteck. But men, I want a Golden Dragon logo on my tubes, that what I paid for. This look like a regular Valve Art tube, with a eareased logo, that we can find easily on the web for $45.00 a pair, but he asked me $88.00 USD saying that he had a stach of old Golden Dragon tubes when they where made on "better tooling using better material than the current new production". (The usual bull shit from crook seller that looking to catch a fish).

I can't see a Golden Dragon logo/label on these two identical KT66 tubes, can you ? That what I paid for, and at high price, $88.00 a pair. The preamp tubes I receved from Terry KILGORE ... thing are getting much worst here, Terry KILGORE who sold me and receved $90.00 for tree Ei Yugo NOS tubes sended me those substitute junk tubes.

It is fairly easy to see that the first tube is not a Ei Yugo NOS but a regular Sylvania tube having this exact number print on the tube of : 6681/12AX7,Sylvania, any one can buy this tube for about $10.00 each, here a link that show the same tube available for $12.00 (last tube on the list). I can not identifie the two others, the seccond having a red "H" and the third one have no identification at all on it, but the two last one are looking like very cheap and low value American tubes with short plates.

That what he sold me, that what I paid for, and that what I want, not his junk lower value $12.00 Sylvania and the two other misterious tubes with eareased logos.

My Paypal payment also indicate that I ordered one rectifier tube Shunguang old stock, the one that where "made many years ago on better tooling using better material than the current production", I receved this time a brand new production Valve Art GZ34 with a Valve Art logo on the tube, but I ordered and payed for an old Shunguang tube, that what he sold me, that what I payed for and that what I want.

This guy, TERRY KILGORE is using the reputation of MetroAmp to catch their custommers and rip them off.

Here is the last comment I receved from Terry KILGORE after I told him that I want the right tubes or a remboursment and I added "you got me" he reply :
"how about going and fucking your self"

Do you think like I do that this is a criminal fraud ? False reprentation maybe ?

Metro Amp and Terry KILGORE are two reputated sellers but as we all know, Bernard MADOFF also had a good reputation on Wall Street for many many years, but he's now in jail for 150 years !

What about buying a Ford Mustang and the seller want to deliver you a Honda (without a logo) ?

In conclusion, out of six tubes I bought from Terry KILGORE, NONE of them correspond to my order, these tubes I receved are all substitute tubes with a lower commercial value (and wrong brand), this is a real RIP OFF!

Dear friend George,

I'm one of your nemerous customers, just bought many parts from your business to build a JTM45 amp, and while brousing on the Metro Amp Forum searching for building tips, I saw the advertising banner of Terry KILGORE as a tube seller. Knowing that you are a reputable seller, I wass confident to find in Terry an honnest tube seller too. I was wrong !

Your friend Terry just rip me off selling me "nice tubes" for a relatively high price but as you can see on my web page at : http://www.jeangodbout.com/terry-kilgore-scam.htm he rip me off delivering junk and lower value tubes than the one I ordered.

How can let a crook use your name, use your reputation and your web site to steal your own customers ? I can't beleve that. I'm not an expert in business management, but I think that this not very good for your business reputation to be associated with a crook that rip off your customers, just my 2 cents opinion !

I'm not saying that Terry don't know tubes, I'm not saying that all your customers are rip off, but look at my bad experience with this robber. Your anonymous forum manager told me in a private message that this is the first time he heard bad things about Terry, but strangely, while I had a post on the Metro Amp forum, I receved a private message from an other Metro amp forum member (AXEMAN) saying that he also have been rip off by Terry, and my post have been on the forum only fews hours before it's been deleted by the forum administrator.

Your forum administrator also ask me to move on, to forget about that scam and he add that this only a small $200.00 lost, well $200.00 may be a small amount for a rich guy, but it represent lot of money for a poor guy like me that live on a ridiculously small disability pension. I simply can't afford to buy again some other tubes, so I'm stuck with junk tubes for a while.

Terry dosen't reply to any of my e-mail anymore, so I'm asking you to talk to this guy to solve this roberery since you'r the one that let this guy advertise on your web site and rip off your customers, when this dispute will be resolve, then I will be able to move on !
